Ok, so I may not like his new website, but I sure am enjoying his return to music.

Dashing.com user "Beeswing" posted links to Yusuf's recent appearance on "Later With Jools Holland." There are three performances and an interview, all of which are wonderful. He has a full band with him, including long-time partner Alun Davies. It sure is great to see them together again. I can't embed the video here (it won't let me) so you'll have to click the links. It's worth it though, great stuff.

It's so nice to just be a fan during this time and not have to worry about running the website. I'm really grateful for the timing of it all.

I swear I've got tears in my eyes after watching the 1st clip! Starkey's been listening to that song lately and I gotta admit that I really like it. Up until I saw that clip, though, Cat's reappearance on the music scene was not real in my mind. After seeing this, with the band behind him on a talk show - it finally gelled: Cat is back! Awesome - what's cool is that he still ends his songs the same way he did a quarter century ago - with his eyes closed and a look of contentment on his face and the guitar neck swung up to the sky. Again - Awesome!

    that's a sweet post, pablo.

(I noticed that too, about how he ends his performance. You can tell it's reached him on a very personal level.)

I can't believe I'm going to see something so cliche' of the old site, but that was just fantastic, amazing, almost spiritual. I had forgotten what his performances were like and this is really a treat, a gem, a delight.

Thanks for posting these links. Awesome. Yusuf and band just play the shit out of these songs. Superb.

All the while I was watching the clips and the fabulous production/camera work (kudos to the Jool Holland crew!), I was thinking how great it would be for Yuuf to do a on-off, well produced in-studio performance/concert with a full band (and what a fabulous band it is!) - similar to that done by Fleetwood Mac for 'the Dance', the Eagles for 'Hell Freezes Over', or ELO for 'Zoom' - and send it straight to DVD/video. Looking at these performances, he seems to be ready for it.

Now that would be awesome. Bring it on!

Thank you for your comments, John. I'm absolutely agree with you. I don't like the website. At least, we have some new material.

I continue working on Cat Stevens/Yusuf songs. Because, remember, I am Spanish, some words of Maybe there's a world are not enough clear for me. Could be anyone so kind to send me the lyrics of this song? I promise to upload a version in my website, or, why not?, a video performance in Youtube.

    Thank you everybody.

    Juan
